TRT – Turkish Radio and Television (TÜRKİYE)
The Turkish Radio and Television Corporation (TRT) was established on 01 May
1964 as an autonomous legal entity by special law in order to carry out radio and television broadcasts on behalf of the state. Today, TRT serves as a public service broadcaster, whose autonomy and impartiality are stipulated in the constitution, broadcasting through radio and television and all media.
Turkish Radio and Television Corporation, TRT Çocuk, Turkey’s first and only local children’s channel, TRT Kurdî, the first channel broadcasting in different languages and dialects, TRT World broadcasting news in English, TRT Arabi broadcasting in Arabic, TRT Russian broadcasting in Russian, TRT Français broadcasting in French from the Balkans to Central Asia, TRT Avaz, which addresses a geography with a population of approximately 250 million in 27 countries and 13 autonomous republics from the Middle East to the Caucasus, has many television, radio and applications such as TRT Music with local and foreign music broadcasts from the past to the present, TRT Documentary, which broadcasts in English, German, French, Russian and Turkish and five different languages. Today, TRT broadcasts to Turkey and the world with 14 television channels, 14 radio channels, trt.net.tr and www.trtvotworld.com websites in 41 languages, 5 printed magazines
Acting with the responsibility of public broadcasting, TRT provides important support to the culture, arts and education of our country, while continuing to reflect Turkey’s power and voice to the whole World with its international broadcasts in different languages as the address of instant and
reliable journalism. TRT, with its headquarters in Ankara, continues its broadcasting life with its campuses in many cities such as Istanbul, Izmir, Erzurum, Trabzon and Diyarbakır.
It carries out national broadcasting services with a workforce of approximately 10 thousand personnel. In accordance with its mission and vision, TRT evaluates many national and international training demands in addition to informing the public. It organises training programmes for various age groups with the Training and Research Department within its corporate organisation. TRT continues to provide training to public institutions, private sector, international organisations and many universities with its qualified staff.

We want to offer disadvantaged groups guidance – a ‘compass’ to help them find their way in society. In doing so, we rely on innovative intercultural approaches to facilitate social, professional and socio-economic integration. Education and training play a central role here, as they are the key to sustainable participation.
We are convinced that integration and inclusion can only succeed if both the people concerned and society as a whole are actively committed to them. That is why we not only want to empower our participants through the acquisition of new skills, but also raise awareness of the importance of diversity and intercultural exchange.
As digital technologies have become an integral part of social and professional life, we are particularly committed to teaching digital skills and facilitating access to the digital world.
MTVA – Hungarian Public Service Media (HUNGARY)
In January 2011, MTVA (Media Service Support and Asset Management Fund) was established and all assets and most of the staff of the former public service media organisations (MTV, Duna TV, MR) were transferred to MTVA.
MTVA is responsible for content production, commissioning and purchasing of public service radio and television programmes and also manages the online platforms of public service media.
With more than 2000 employees, Hungarian public service media has become the largest media organisation in Hungary, taking advantage of the opportunities offered by eight television channels (M1, M2, M2 Petőfi TV, M4 Sport, M4 Sport+, M5, Duna TV, Duna World), seven radio channels (Kossuth, Petőfi, Bartók, Dankó Radio, Duna World, Parliament Broadcasts, National Minority Broadcasts).
At its modern production base and headquarters, the company operates digital terrestrial, satellite and online platforms, which offer approximately 60492 hours of television, 61320 hours of radio programmes each year and are transmitted to Hungary, Europe, the Americas and Australia. The content provided by MTVA is broadcast to the majority of homes in Hungary via television and radio sets.
MTVA takes part in many well-known international media festivals and events worldwide and is an active member of a number of international media organisations and professional associations.
PBS – Public Broadcasting Services Ltd. (MALTA)
Public Broadcasting Services Limited (PBS) is Malta’s public broadcaster. PBS is funded by government grants and the sale of commercial airtime The TVM channel is Malta’s most watched television channel and the Magic Malta radio station enjoys great popularity among local and tourist listeners. PBS was established on 11 November 1975 as Xandir Malta and became an associate member of the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) together with the Malta Broadcasting Authority (MBA). The latter was previously recognised as a full and active member, as Malta Television Service Ltd already had in 1970. Since 2003, PBS is the only Maltese member of the EBU. Following the transition to digital television using the DVB-T standard in October 2011, all licensed terrestrial channels in Malta are distributed through a network of transmitters operated by PBS. PBS’s radio services consist of the radio stations Radju Malta, Radju Malta 2 and Magic Malta.
PBS’s television services consist of the TVM and TVMNews+ television channels. It also operates the Parliament TV service under an agreement with the Maltese Parliament.
RTS – Radio Television of Serbia (SERBIA)
Radio Televizija Srbije (RTS), as Serbia’s public broadcaster, is one of the largest and most influential media organisations in the country. Reaching a wide audience through television and radio broadcasts, RTS plays an important role in the media sector in Serbia by providing news, sports, cultural and entertainment programmes. In 1999, RTS lost 16 employees as a result of the NATO bombing attack on the RTS headquarters in Belgrade, and after this tragic event, RTS continues its broadcasting activities and continues to contribute to the development of Serbia in the field of media.
